Weapons charges laid in Friday’s Incident

On May 8, 2020, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an injured person call at a residence on Forfar Street in the Town of Fergus. It was reported that a resident there had sustained injuries from an unknown suspect.

The male was transported to a local hospital by Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services with non-life threatening injuries and later released from hospital.

As a result of the investigation, An 18-years-old of North Perth has been charged with Assault With a Weapon, Robbery With a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on July 28, 2020 to answer to the charges.

This investigation is still ongoing at this time.
